Digital Hobo UPDATE
It’s not the bull you have to worry about these days, it’s the paranoid schizophrenic and his rabid dog camped just off the tracks, or the band of druggies who’ve made camp all along the river. It’s sad when the dirty kids and home bums are a welcomed sight. Just the other day I was walking the tracks, documenting traditional boxcar art, when I was attacked by a pit bull. If it wasn’t for the Nikon around my neck, which I used to keep the beast at bay, I’d have been fucked. Not much further down, I had a knife pulled on me by a guy who informed me he was a paranoid schizophrenic, in search of his best friend, the dog.
Trash, broken bottles, needles, old clothes, shopping carts, mattresses. The farther I walked the more sketchy and ran through shit got. I decided to turn back and head out the way I came, a recommendation from a dirty kid. He warned me there are people out here who would, “kill you for that camera and throw your body in the river”. Doesn’t surprise me, fentanyl here is like the crack epidemic in the 80’s. Gone are the days of recreational drug use. This shit can kill you.
With that said, Digital Hobo has got off to a slow start in 2025. But, I’m still here and plan on hitting the tracks soon for Monikers Volume 20. Still have five interviews I’m setting on, been thinking about doing some you tube or podcast content, and there’s a venue that wants to put on an exhibition of my photography. I just got to come up with the money to get some prints framed up. That’s about it. Slow out the gate…..
